Basement work is mostly carrying. Sofas, mattresses, desks and old appliances went down easily enough and now have to come back up a narrow stair or through a bulkhead door. We handle the lifting and the angles, including pieces that need to be taken apart to get out. Nothing gets dragged across your floors on the way to the truck.

After water or a long stretch of storage

A lot of these calls follow a wet basement. Cardboard collapses, furniture swells, carpet holds the smell, and none of it is worth keeping. Clearing it out is what has to happen before drying, sealing or finishing work can start. Others are simply thirty years of boxes that came down one at a time.
